I.Product Selection & Compatibility
Q1: How do I choose the right repair system?
Choose based on the type and severity of surface damage:
- Severe potholes or cracks: Use HL39 / HL39S Repair Mortar System (high-strength, fast-drying, wet-surface applicable).
- Fine or structural cracks: Use HL312 Crack Repair Agent (two-component epoxy with high density and sealing performance).
- Winter or low-temperature emergency repair: Use HL31 Cold-Mixed Colored Asphalt (no heating required, suitable for cold climates).
- Surface anti-slip or decorative coating: Choose EM45 or HL35 Anti-Slip Systems.
- Final protection and weather sealing: Apply QT02 / QT03 / HS47 Clear Coat Systems.
Q2: What’s the difference between HL39 and HL39S?
They perform the same. HL39S is the colored version, available in red, yellow, blue, and gray — ideal for landscape or decorative pavements.
Q3: Can HL31 Cold-Mixed Asphalt be applied in low temperatures or during rain?
It can be applied above 0°C, but the surface must be dry and clean. Application in rainy or highly humid conditions is not recommended.
Q4: Does the repaired surface require an anti-slip or topcoat after drying?
Yes. Applying EM45/HL35 anti-slip layers and a QT or HS47 clear coat is strongly recommended to improve wear resistance, stain resistance, and slip protection.
Q5: Are there significant cost differences between the systems?
HL39S (colored) is slightly more expensive than HL39 (gray). HL31 offers a more economical solution suitable for large-area or temporary repairs.
Q6: Can the products be used on roads or heavy-load areas?
Yes. HL39 and HL312 Repair Mortars achieve C35–C40 compressive strength, capable of withstanding medium traffic and light vehicle loads.
II. Application & Usage
Q7: Is a primer required before application?
Yes. It’s recommended to use ST Series Primer on concrete or old flooring to enhance adhesion and prevent blistering.
Q8: Does the old coating need to be fully removed before resurfacing?
If the existing layer is firm, light grinding and re-priming are sufficient. If peeling or chalking occurs, completely remove it before applying the new layer.
Q9: What is the recommended thickness and consumption of the repair mortar?
Apply 3–5 mm thick per layer, with a material consumption of 8–10 kg/m². For multi-layer applications, wait until the previous layer is fully dry.
Q10: How should HL312 Crack Repair Agent be applied?
Clean the crack → mix in correct ratio → pour slowly → allow natural curing.
After curing, it forms a dense structural bond, preventing water ingress and re-cracking.
Q11: How long after repair can traffic be reopened?
HL39 / HL39S: Walkable in 4–6 hours, open to vehicles after 12 hours.
HL31: Initial set in 2–4 hours, suitable for quick reopening to light traffic.
Q12: Is there an even faster-curing option for emergency repair?
Yes. The fast-curing version of HL39 allows traffic within 4 hours, ideal for urgent road maintenance projects.
Q13: What are the environmental requirements during construction?
Temperature ≥ 0°C, humidity ≤ 85%. The substrate must be dry and clean, and application should avoid direct sunlight or strong winds.
Q14: Why are anti-slip granules falling off?
The surface was either too smooth or not sealed quickly. Apply the clear coat immediately after spreading granules to fix them in place.
Q15: What causes whitening or bubbling after repair?
Usually caused by moisture or thick application. Ensure good ventilation and recoat once the surface is dry.
III. Performance
Q16: What compressive strength can the repair mortar achieve?
The HL39 Series reaches C35–C40 compressive strength, offering excellent abrasion and flexural performance suitable for roads and industrial floors.
Q17: Is cracking or delamination likely to occur after repair?
If the base is unclean or the layer thickness is uneven, delamination may occur. Proper grinding and cleaning of dust are essential before application.
Q18: Can the repaired color match the original surface?
Custom color matching is available, though minor variation may occur due to surface absorption differences. A uniform topcoat is recommended for color consistency.
Q19: Are the products weather-resistant and UV-stable?
Yes. Formulated with UV-resistant materials, ensuring long-term color retention without yellowing or fading under outdoor exposure.
IV. Maintenance & Renewal
Q20: How often should maintenance or recoating be done?
Every 3–5 years for light-traffic areas and 2–3 years for heavy-load zones. QT Series Clear Coat can be used for quick renewal.
Q21: Is the repaired surface difficult to clean?
No. It can be easily cleaned using neutral detergents or high-pressure water.
V. Storage & Transportation
Q22: How should the products be stored and transported?
Store at 5–35°C in a cool, ventilated area, avoiding freezing and direct sunlight.
Use anti-freeze packaging during winter transport. Shelf life: 12 months.
VI. After-Sales & Warranty
Q23: Is there a warranty for the materials?
Yes. A 12-month quality warranty from delivery date. Any performance issue caused by material defects will be replaced free of charge.
Q24: What conditions are not covered under warranty?
Failures due to weak substrate strength, mixing with other brands, poor construction environment, or incorrect ratios are not covered.
Q25: Does the warranty include labor costs?
No. The warranty covers materials only and excludes labor or auxiliary consumables.
Q26: Is technical support available?
Yes. Huacheng provides remote video guidance, on-site supervision, and training sessions for major projects upon request.
VII. Export & Commercial Support
Q27: Can the products be exported? Are there any shipping restrictions?
Yes. All products are waterborne and non-hazardous, compliant with sea and air freight regulations. They have been exported to Australia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Q28: Can samples and bidding documents be provided?
Yes. All products are waterborne and non-hazardous, compliant with sea and air freight regulations. They have been exported to Australia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Q29: Can you recommend construction partners?
Yes. As a manufacturer, Huacheng can recommend qualified contractors and provide technical supervision throughout the process.
VIII. Troubleshooting
Q30: Why is the repaired surface uneven or color inconsistent?
Likely due to uneven thickness or improper mixing. Ensure consistent stirring and sectional application.
Q31: Why are bubbles forming in the mortar or anti-slip coating?
Use a low-speed mixer and allow the material to stand for air release. Avoid applying under direct sunlight or high surface temperatures.
Q32: What if the repair layer gets wet before fully cured and starts peeling?
Remove the affected area and reapply once the surface is completely dry and ventilated to restore adhesion.
